MICHAEL HALKITIS

MICHAEL JOINED HUNT AND HUNT IN NOVEMBER 2020. MICHAEL WAS ADMITTED AS A SOLICITOR IN THE SUPREME COURT OF THE NORTHERN TERRITORY IN DECEMBER 2020.
Michael had a noteworthy start to his legal career, having completed his Law Degree with 1st class Honours. He has since obtained valuable experience working with and assisting in a wide range of legal matters and disputes, with a particular focus in the areas negligence and insurance.
Michael has acted for a range of insurance bodies, such as statutory insurers, approved insurers and self-insureds, in the Northern Territory, in complex litigated and non-litigated claims. Michael has assisted in and handled a range of matters in the insurance field, such as workers compensation, recovery actions, motor accidents, personal injury, negligence, and medical negligence. Michael also enjoys a broad civil litigation practice involving complex litigated claims and appeals, which includes experience in the NSW jurisdiction.
Michael was born and raised in the Northern Territory which is where he is aiming to progress his Career. In doing so, it is his aim to consistently provide both practical and cost-effective advice to clients.
Michael has been actively involved in both the insurance industry and legal profession, having enjoyed and continues to enjoy his roles in the Young Insurance Professionals Australia (YIPs) as the Vice-President and the Northern Territory Law Society as a Councillor. Michael has also volunteered at Darwin Community Legal Services.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys coaching juniors in soccer when he is not trying to be a hockey player and when he has time, he likes to cook.
